Breaking Water

Motherhood is like that winter storm

When everything comes to a halt

And no one knows what to expect

And things are done, when they are done

The snow creates a white blanket

To lay the child, the baby's head

The wind murmured a lullaby

Of love and care...

The water breaks like falling rain

And droplets freeze in the crystal clear

Window of a hospital bed

Soon, very soon, we should hear:

Hey! Guess what? Baby is here! ©Gloria photo Gloria

The Rose Bud

 A new rose bud comes,

wrapped in a blanket

 of cold and snow

A tiny ray of sun and love

That shines and brights

The darkness  nights

The excitement builds

The wait seems long

Nine months

And rose bud

has not come

What it will be?

How it will look?

Nobody knows

But there will be

tears of joy

for a new life

Another hope

To a better start,

Perhaps...

So much potential

In such a tiny one!

The Cycle

Life is a cycle..or better yet, a series of cycles. We must learn to start, and then, to stop.  Finish and close all cycles and start new ones.  Each cycle is intended to teach us something.  To help us grow. Without that the butterfly will never become who she is intended to be.  The frog will stay a tadpole for ever.  The birds will not break out of their eggshells. I think I am ready to close a cycle and to start a new one. It is exciting after all to discover what the Creator has for me next. I am open to learn and to grow! Let's do this new adventure called life!

The Butterfly and The Flower - Nature Romance

She was a " social butterfly"
They say...
Her days went by
Flying from flower to flower
Tasting the nectar of life
While adorning the garden
With her beautiful wings...
Until one bright day
She found the one
That made her stop
And stay...
She forgot about
All the other flowers
And devoted her love
To the tall, bright, handsome
Cornflower in the corner
And rumors has that
She stays there
Days and nights...
until death due them apart!

The elementary school - (ode to childhood)

Today I stop by this little park in my son old school. Long time ago, in this same place,  I asked him and his classmates what did they want to do when they grew older. I cannot remember their answers, but I recall the joy on their faces. The innocence in their eyes. I recall that they believed in themselves and had not doubts about their abilities to reach their dreams. That is the world through the eyes of children.

As we grow older we loose the ability to trust. Our Innocence erodes with time and disappointments. We become sarcastic and hateful. We question our values and even walk away from God. We loose our faith, our trust, and doubt our  capacity to reach those dreams we had when we were little.

The thing is, we should never stop dreaming. We should remain learners. We should believe in the impossible to be possible. We should take cover under the protection of our Almighty Father. Our souls should always stay " forever young".© Gloria

Life in the backyard -the Mama's nest

 Out to the world

I went

It was a beautiful

summer

Spring like day

My backyard

needed some care and,

Unlike other days,

I was ready to work today

I cleaned the weeds

Here and there

And the quietness was broken

As, out of nowhere

All of a sudden

A fight broke

Between two birds,

Right over my head...

They almost got me in the fight

I must say!

Well, Let me get out of your way.

I left, and almost collided with

A hummingbird!

Hmmm I scratched my head

Busy traffic day around here...

Let me trim that tree instead.

As I started trimming small branches

My eyes landed in a Mama's nest

Oh!

Well, looks like my work

Around here is done for the day!

Breathing

I seat in here and I look at the sky

So perfectly draw by the Artist

The contrasting colors that blends

Over the crystalline waters

In this magical place I observe miracles

With each passing cloud

The scene changes, second by second,

I feel my heart beats

The blood in my veins,

The wind on my face,

The smell of the lake...

And I breathe deeply

Wanting to freeze this moment

Defend it from the evilness of time.
