There was upon a time a wolf that was wounded. The Eagle searching from the sky for an easy pray spotted the bleeding wolf. Against her nature and instincts she landed near the wolf with curiosity and a bit of fear. She has closed encounters with another wolf long ago and has lost many feathers in that fight. But this wolf looked different. He whinned a bit and licked his wounds. Did not showed fear for the curious Eagle. Instead addresesed her with his big soft baby blue eyes as one will adress a friend or perhaps a pack member. The Eagle backed up nervous. Being a creature of the sky meant she was alone must of the time. It was awkward to interact with another creature so close and personal. The Eagle stayed there for a little while.she was not hungry so did not looked at the wolf as a possible dinner. She was just curious. Other animals of pray circuled the area. The wolf shivered on pain. The Eagle just stood there for a while. Warming her feathers under the cold sun of winter. Some time before dawn she got hungry and took of for a hunting trip. For some crazy reason she returned to the wolf with a big rabbit. Started breaking her dinner in pieces when her eyes collided with those of the hungry wolf. He was starving too. Maybe her female nature nurturing and caring kicked her because despite any self preserve instincts she approched the wolf and dropped half of the rabbit at his side. The wolf devored the meat in an instant. The Eagle backed off fast. One could tell if she has not backed off fast she would has been part of the wolf dinner. She finished her portion and cleaned her beack and then plucked her feathers. The night was now covering the land and a cold breeze reminded them both that winter was in to stay. Against her best judgement she stayed near by the wolf that night...she usually will go at the top of her mountain and watch the sleeping world from the safety of the highs...but she choose to be vulnerable and become a guardian for the wounded wolf that now slept quietly knowing a friend was nearby ready to fight over any predator that looked at him as a possible dinner. Strange friendships born from the most unusual situations. But animals of prey are animals of prey and no matter what their nature will take over. Eventually the wolf healed. The Eagle then realized that the highs was where she belong. She went back to her special place and watched the wolf from the distance reuniting with his own kind. She wondered how will life be in the woods. She will never know. She spread her wings and fly in the blue sky. It was dinner time. She spot a snake and down she went. Merciless she struck her nails into the terrestrial creature and flew away back to her nest. In her way to her nest she crossed paths with the wolf once .again. He looked up and saw her carrying her dinner. She looked down and saw him devoring a deer. They both knew that their short friendship was over. If they ever cross path again one will devour the other.
